Transmission Drain Plug Installation
The drain plug location should be on the driver's side towards the back
of the the pan. Measure in about 1" from the side and 1" in from the back
of the pan. (On the back side you will notice that the pan goes straight
down and then bends in about 45 degrees. From there there is a second bend
which then moves to the bottom of the pan. Measure in 1" from this second
bend.) Use a punch to mark the center of the hole. Drill a 1/8" hole first,
then the 1/2" hole for the drain plug bolt. Use a scraper to make sure the
surfaces are flat. (I am not exactly sure about the 1" measurement; it might
be slightly more or less. The attaching nut should have about 1/4" spacing
from either side of the pan.)
